Life is all about making choices.
“Life is all about making choices. Always do your best to make the right ones, and always do your best to learn from the wrong ones.”
“Everyone makes different choices. We become different when we choose something right”-
The dawn broke on me with a thought about ‘CHOICES’. Going down memory lane, I started thinking about the CHOICES that influence our decision.
We make choices with the intention that it will be fulfilled, sometimes we get successful from those choices and sometimes it becomes disastrous. Choices also depend upon our consciousness at that time and that moment, in what mind frame we are in. We cannot predict that the choices are wrong or right, it depends upon the time and your mindset at that moment.
There is a beautiful story on lord Krishna.
During the era of Mahabharata, when the cousins Pandavas and Kauravas had pronounced war they had begun preparing their powers and met various lords and different family members to come and battle on their separate sides to win the fight.
Duryodhana and Arjuna came to meet Krishna to seek his help, but as Krishna was in deep slumber, they waited for him to arise from sleep. While Duryodhana stood beside Sri Krishna’s head, Arjuna stood near Krishna’s feet.
On seeing Krishna awake both wished for his support in the war. Krishna tendered them two choices, first to extend his army resources and second to offer himself. He further clarified that while the army resources will fight but he will not and will only support. When he saw Arjuna first, he offered to choose first. Arjuna instantaneously chose Krishna’s support over the army of resources.
Duryodhana was pleased as he felt the CHOICE of Arjuna was unwise and foolish. This decision by Arjuna was the turning point wherein Pandavas won the war due to the leadership, guidance, and insight of Krishna, even though they were few in numbers.
Arjuna knew the real strength and power of Lord Krishna and was happy to have him by the side of Pandavas to fight the battle with them.🙏🙂
It is important to make wise choices to generate joy in our lives. But when the road forks, confusion suddenly sets in. It is normal to feel bewildered when different options present different pros and cons.
As we advance down the path of life, sudden shifts require our attention and quick thinking: Should I give this person another chance? Should I take this job opportunity? Should I invest in a new home? so many thoughts like this….
And under the pressure of making the correct choice, all or none of our choices may even seem right. Where, then, do we turn for guidance?
Or Do we need to organize our thoughts and follow our intuitions while making the choices?
